180 Degrees South: Conquerors of the Useless

180 Degrees South follows adventurer Jeff Johnson as he retraces the epic 1968 journey of his heroes, Yvon Chouinard and Doug Tompkins, from Ventura, California to Patagonia, Chile. Along the way, Johnson encounters various challenges, including being shipwrecked off Easter Island and surfing one of the longest waves of his life. The film culminates with his attempt to climb the Corcovado Volcano, reflecting on the importance of environmental conservation inspired by Chouinard and Tompkins' commitment to preserving Patagonia's wilderness.
