Brian Gase is Vice President of Engineering Quality at Rivian, where he is responsible for ensuring the company’s electric adventure vehicles are designed, engineered, and tested to meet and exceed customer expectations. In addition to overseeing vehicle testing and product validation, he leads Rivian’s Special Projects team, which develops prototypes and marketing concept vehicles that help showcase the brand to the world.
A foundational leader with more than 16 years at Rivian, Brian is one of the company’s earliest employees and has played an important role in shaping its culture, products, and engineering approach. Known for his positive energy, first-principles mindset, and determination to turn the impossible into reality, he has helped build Rivian into one of the world’s most innovative electric vehicle manufacturers.
Most recently, Brian has been instrumental in the rollout of the highly anticipated R2 midsize SUV platform. From early development through pre-production validation and public media drives, he has helped ensure Rivian’s next-generation, high-volume platform delivers world-class structural integrity and quality. His expertise also extends to designing products with serviceability and repairability in mind, as well as helping organizations scale to better support owners throughout the vehicle lifecycle.
Brian holds multiple automotive patents and a master’s degree in Automotive Engineering. With deep experience across EV development and a long history of helping shape Rivian into the company it is today, he brings a distinctive perspective to the industry and is passionate about sharing his insights—particularly on how collision requirements can help drive smarter product design.
